Mount Rinjani is an active volcano located on the island of Lombok, Indonesia. It is the second highest volcano in Indonesia, standing at 3,726 meters (12,224 feet) above sea level. Mount Rinjani is a popular destination for trekking and outdoor enthusiasts due to its stunning natural beauty and challenging terrain. The trek to the summit of Mount Rinjani is a multi-day adventure that takes trekkers through lush forests, open savannahs, and breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.

Trekking Mount Rinjani in Lombok is a popular activity for adventure seekers and nature lovers. The trek to the summit of Mount Rinjani usually takes two to four days, depending on the route and the pace of the trekker.

Mount Rinjani has two main trekking starting points, one is the Senaru route and the other is the Sembalun route. The Sembalun route starts from the village of Sembalun Lawang, located on the eastern side of the mountain.

The Sembalun route is known for its more gradual ascent compared to the Senaru route, which makes it a popular choice for beginner trekkers. However, it is still a challenging trek that requires a good level of fitness and stamina.

The trek to the summit of Mount Rinjani via the Sembalun route usually takes three to four days, depending on the pace of the trekker. Along the way, trekkers will pass through lush forests, open savannahs, and stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.

One of the highlights of the Sembalun route is the summit climb to the top of Mount Rinjani, which offers breathtaking views of the crater lake and the surrounding islands. The climb to the summit is challenging and requires a good level of fitness and stamina, but the views from the top are truly unforgettable.

It’s important to note that trekking Mount Rinjani via the Sembalun route also requires proper equipment and a knowledgeable guide. The weather can also be unpredictable, so it’s important to be prepared for changing conditions.

Overall, trekking Mount Rinjani via the Sembalun route is a memorable and rewarding experience for those who love nature, adventure, and stunning scenery.
